Just a short drive from our Palm Beach holiday accommodation, Burleigh Heads National Park is an unspoilt oasis popular with bird watchers, picnicking families and hikers.
There are 27 hectares of cool rainforest and wild headland to explore, with 2 main walking tracks leading the way past the park’s most spectacular features. Enjoy a stroll along the 1.2km Oceanview Walk that hugs the foreshore, or set out on the Rainforest Circuit through the depths of the rainforest and up to Tumgun lookout to enjoy fantastic views out to the Gold Coast hinterland. If you happen to be visiting between June and November, your hike up to this spectacular lookout point might be rewarded by the unforgettable sight of humpback whales rolling in the surf below you – binoculars are a must!
