You can help find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes by participating in the 8th JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes.
Founded in 1982 in Australia by determined volunteers, JDRF or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is the world’s largest charitable supporter of Type 1 Diabetes research. It consistently raises funds each year to support critical research in Type 1 Diabetes in Australia. It recently awarded a five-year $750,000 grant to University of Queensland’s Dr Emma Hamilton-Williams.
The JDRF event will see participants go on a three-kilometre walk to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for the disease. Expect to meet families who are living with Type 1 Diabetes. Plus, experience a healthy day of fun activities for the whole family.
Funds culled through the walk will assist JDRF’s research strategy to cure, treat and help prevent Type 1 Diabetes.
You can support JDRF by registering for the event at https://checkout.payments.com.au/jdrfWalk/register.asp.
The event will take place at Pratten Park, Broadbeach on October 13, 2013. It is a quick drive from our Palm Beach Family Accommodation.
