Cooly Rocks On Festival 2021
June 9 to June 13
Cooly Rocks On is the biggest festival of its kind in Australia – a festival of all things the 50s, 60s and 70s for rock ’n’ roll, swing, retro and vintage lovers.
For five days, Coolangatta will come alive with live music on stage, retro pageants, dance-offs, vintage markets, an unmissable classic car and motorcycle display on the beachfront plus more. Best of all? It’s free to attend.
Australian Open Bowls Gold Coast
June 12 to June 25
Lawn bowls fans will already know about this year’s Australian Open Bowls, returning to take over the top bowls clubs up and down the Gold Coast.
Australian Open Bowls 2021 will comprise Singles, Pairs and Fours in a back-to-back knockout match format spread over two weeks, with a jaw-dropping prize purse of $275,000. Bowls fan? Then you won’t want to miss it.
Gold Coast Marathon 2021
July 3 and July 4
Cheer on the runners or join in this year – Gold Coast Marathon 2021 will take place over one whole weekend with a range of distances for all ages and capabilities.
Runs include Junior Dash for kids, 5km Fun Run, 10km Run, ASICS Half Marathon and the big 42km Gold Coast Marathon. Register before June to take part or simply come along to soak up the atmosphere.
Kokoda Challenge
July 17 and July 18
Fan of long-distance treks and testing your limits? The Gold Coast Kokoda Challenge is back for its 16th event, offering 17km, 48km and 96km cross country trails inspired by the famous Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea.
The trails are located in Firth Park Mudgeeraba, featuring fire trails, creeks and up to 5000 metres of elevation. Group participation is encouraged, with all fund-raising efforts going to Kokoda Youth Foundation.
BLEACH Festival Gold Coast
August 12 to August 22
BLEACH Festival 2021 is an 11-day art, heritage and culture festival with a program of free and ticketed performances for all ages and interests.
The festival boasts live music, dance, theatre, circus and live art, showcasing and celebrating the region’s most talented artists and up-and-coming performers. There are also workshops to join, BLEACH Bar, plus activities and special guest talks.
